Skydive 2011

colin leslie skydive

They always say that you should do at least one thing in your lifetime that scares you!

Well Colin Leslie is always on the look out for something adventurous and 'jumped' (excuse the pun) at the challenge offered by Laura from Rowcroft Hospice.... a 15,000 ft tandem skydive over the glorious Devon countryside.

On the 24th June 2011 Colin, like may people across South Devon who've raised thousands and thousands of pounds for Rowcroft, made the short journey to Dunkerswell airfield just outside of Honiton to take part in a completely new experience. To jump out of a plane at one of the highest altitudes you can experience in the UK - 15,000ft

Rowcroft has been associated with Skydive UK Ltd for several years now and it is one of the many ways they raise vital funds for their deserving cause - but this does certailnly rate as one of the more adventurous !!

After a morning's delay due to cloud cover, that's the british summer for you, jumping got under way with many friends and family spectating and of course for many, much needed encouragement.

Colin had an amazing time and certainly would recommend giving it a go...he mentioned, "You will never ever regret doing this! it's one of those "things to do in my lifetime" moments, it is a great way to raise money for charity and boy is it a rush... you can see for miles as you head towards the ground at 120mph!!"

Colin would like to thank all the Skydive team for making his day so memorable, especially Jason for arranging everything, Katherine the wonderful pilot and finally to Ralph his tandem instructor who was awesome and incredibly professional.
